BERLIN, Germany — July 4, 2019 — Advancing Women in Product (AWIP), the organization empowering high-potential female product and tech leaders through equality of opportunity, is announcing the launch of a new chapter in Berlin, Germany. On the heels of a chapter launch in Paris last year, this new chapter, is expanding AWIP’s global footprint and furthering its mission to establish programs for women and underrepresented minorities in tech.
“Women around the world are underrepresented in the tech industry and AWIP is committed to changing the status quo to empowering tech leaders across the board,” said Nancy Wang, CEO and co-founder of AWIP. “We look forward to our Berlin chapter providing the future generation of tech leaders with the skills and mentorship opportunities they need to succeed.”
Since it was founded in San Francisco in 2017, AWIP has reached 10,000 members worldwide to close the widening diversity gap in tech. Nancy Wang founded the organization to provide a community of product managers, VCs, product designers and engineers with programming to support their professional goals and career progressions. Each chapter in the organization offers executive mentoring, skills-based training workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities and other programs to empower product managers of all backgrounds and career levels.
The AWIP Berlin Chapter will focus on organizing skill-based trainings and networking opportunities for local members. AWIP Berlin will host events throughout the year featuring local technology leaders.
The AWIP Berlin chapter kickoff will include a discussion focused on how tech leaders can build a more interconnected global economy with products, followed by a Q&A session. For the panel, AWIP has invited local, Berlin-based founders to share their experience designing international products. This event will be a prelude to the upcoming official chapter kick-off for AWIP Berlin.
